BOJ invented and patented this double lever corkscrew in 1932 and, true to our roots, we have been manufacturing it for more than 90 years in our workshop in Éibar, Guipuzcoa. It owes its great fame to its durability, effectiveness and its curious design, reminiscent of an owl. Since then, millions and millions of units have been sold worldwide, becoming our most iconic product and being present in art museums as an icon of popular culture. Over the years we have adapted both its exterior design and its internal mechanism to optimize the extraction of corks. Only BOJ holds the worldwide license for the manufacture of the spigot, created to extract both natural and synthetic corks.
